About Dr. Patti Schultz
You don’t have to carry this grief alone
Hi, I’m Dr. Patti. Just call me Patti. Like you, I am a grieving mom, and I truly understand the depths of loss, hope, and resilience because I’ve walked that path myself.
If you’ve lost a pregnancy, a child, or a dream, and you’re searching for someone who truly understands, you’re in the right place. Through books, resources, and faith-filled encouragement, this is a space to find moments of peace when grief feels unbearable.

You belong here if…
You’re carrying more than anyone knows. You smile through baby showers and dodge questions about “when you’re having kids.” You’ve heard “everything happens for a reason” so many times you want to scream.
You don’t need someone to fix you. You need someone who gets it.
You’re not alone
I never planned to write about loss
I never planned to write about loss. But after a decade of infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss, I found myself desperate for resources that understood my pain, resources that didn’t just offer clinical advice or empty reassurances, but acknowledged the depth of my grief. I longed for stories from others who had walked this path, for a sense that I was not alone in my sorrow.

Our journey through adoption
After experiencing the heartache of losing our twins, we knew we needed time to heal, away from tests, needles, and the busy pace of doctors’ offices. During this quiet period, a friend reached out and shared that a couple was looking to place their deaf baby for adoption.
As an interpreter and teacher of the deaf, we felt a deep connection and prayerful hope that this child was meant for us. We poured our hearts into the adoption process. As we traveled across the country to meet him, we learned the grandparents had informed the courts of their intent to adopt him. We had no more tears left.
Special needs
While our journey began with the miracle of a single baby, we were then blessed with twins. The news was bittersweet, and we held cautious hope. When the high-risk doctor expressed concern that required months in the hospital, I recognized the road ahead, filled with both hope and uncertainty.
After the twins arrived, we learned Baby A would require ongoing care due to various medical complexities. As we navigated countless doctor visits, surgeries, and specialists, I saw reflections of the challenges faced by my school families caring for children with special needs. Our miracle baby needed specialized equipment, expert care, and patience.
Through this journey, I also felt a profound grief—the loss of the dream of a typical birth and a smooth beginning. It’s a grief many moms know deeply. Here, we offer a compassionate space to share your story, find support, and find comfort in community. You’re not alone.

2012-2014
After longing and waiting, three miracle boys finally arrived—one singleton and a set of twins. While the grief didn’t disappear, hope began to feel real again.
